Some place nice to get stuck in....

Eighteen pounds of carrots.  Six quarts of meatballs.  Three hamburg, six ox roast, and six ham and bean soup.  I experimented with apple pie from the apples at the end of the driveway.   It was a go, so Tommy took the ladder out and picked all he could yesterday.  Today I will make apple pie filling.   I just may not have to buy them this year.  I have quite a few jars of applesauce left from last year.
Over the last week or so  I have managed to mow and break the rider (actually the spring just came off the deck), finish emptying Mom and Dad's house (by driving Tom's truck!), and catching up on housework that was left go while vacations were going on.
At the end of the long canning day yesterday, Tom and I took a walk out back in our woods to check his field cam.
Not much on the location in front of his stand, so we placed it a little more west to see what would walk by.
No signs of bear either, so that was a good thing.
The trees have some very interesting root bases.
We discovered many new ones for firewood. We also discovered west side of the woods that the beaver are diverting their dam our way.  Maybe they will just tie it in to the swamp line that runs though.  It would be much better than a new wet line.
