Not much snow for Christmas, but Rain, rain, Rain!
And if that wasn't enough after we have flooded into a much hole,   now we get the arctic freeze!  And the snow comes, and the cold blasts us.
I haven't left home for almost a week.
I am thankful that my husband and daughter can make it back and forth to work safely, that we DO have a snowblower that can work, and that we have coal to keep everything and everyone warm!  All the cats have come in (less Harriet, who has an unknown source of hibernation).  Even Sweety, the barn cat has come in to stay in the mudroom for a few days.
Poor little L.B. hops around out there wanting to do his manly territorial, but nearly freezes before he gets to all the ladies hot spots around the yard.
I manage to get out to the barn 3-4 times a day while family is at work just to get thawed water to the horses.  I have a sled and I also made three new water buckets from the 5 gallon ones we used.  I just bent the handle so it would fit on the stall hooks.  Now instead of cracking the ice, I just trade them out for 3 buckets that I fill in the tub.
Nice, isn't it?
My oldest son is sure to call and give me his weather report daily.
