The day I flew out was the same day John was headed back up to Erie. I was suppose to go down and pick him up, but Tom took the day off and went instead. He had gotten on the computer to get all directions to get into Pittsburgh where he was suppose to be, but that was useless. Luckily, he managed to find a young man that practically led him to the door and right in the knick of time. John was getting out later than expected so it worked out well. He brought him back to Erie and got him all settled.
While I was down in Florida that week, Tom ran John around getting what he needed. He also took him to the library where they were allowed a private room to set up the computer and Skype Mom and Dad. First time that they had seen each other in years.
Meanwhile...
Tommy had stayed the entire time I was away taking care of everything during the day while Tom and Jessalyn were at work. He even had made some dinners for the family. He had used the crockpot and hear it was a good meal! For everything else, I had left a notebook for everyone to help them out. You know me.
Everything was still standing when I got in, but just as Tom was coming home from work last night, he backed in the driveway watching out for everyone but not seeing Gizmo. Tommy ran out as fast as he could, but not fast enough. What an awful way to end the last few days. I remember when Tom first brought her home and she would want to curl up on our shoulder or sit on top of Tom's head when he wore a ball cap. Goofy cat. Then poor thing when Bear attacked her and she lost vision from her one eye. That didn't stop her from loving outside and chasing the birds and other cats!
I also came home to a huge snowstorm. What a cultural shock! It was also a day I had to drive Tommy to McKean for an appointment. It was a high impact storm that had me driving 20 mph all the way there, straight through the snow belt. Slow and steady, we made it there and back just before dark.
