Tom and I celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary the 20th of May. We
drove out to Kinzua Dam for the afternoon. It was really a nice warm
day, but that breeze gave me the '80's look! We had a great day, but
when we got back it really was disappointing. Tom took Jess out for
some drive practice in her new car. When I was putting the dogs out I
noticed that something just didn't sound right. Sick feeling hit.
Sure enough, I peeked in at the pool and noticed the water level dropped
at least 2". It was hot that day, but not that hot. I hopped in and
found upon investigation that there was a little tear along the seam.
My toe didn't stop in time. It made it a little bigger. I panicked and called Mom and Dad to see what I could do. Dad said use
duct tape as careful as possible. So I yelled for Tommy to help me
tear of long lengths of tape as I dove under and tried replacing it. I
had also tried getting Tom to buy a patch kit somewhere while he was
out. Well, the tape thing didn't work.
It aggravated it more and in
one big WHOOSH it tore the hole open and out came 5,000 gallons of
water. I was sick seeing $600 of water just empty into our yard. The pool is done. It was $100 a swim last year. Now it is in the scrap yard.
