Some place nice to get stuck in....

Since Tom had off and it was a Saturday, Ken was here and helped clean up for the family that was coming out for dinner on Easter.   Busy all day cleaning up the yard and making it look as nice as we could since nothing was in full bloom and the leaves haven't really come out yet.  It was dry most of the week so we were excited that they could enjoy being outside.   I did most of the cooking the day before so that I could just put it in the big oven and heat it back up.   It was nice waking up to the ham cooking Saturday morning, but hard to put it away until the next day!
We had 15 of the McFarlands out on Easter.  Katie even brought Ava.  She was loving all the food! I had made the infamous ham and ham gravy ( I think I made at least a gallon!)  cheated, but made an entire extra large box of mashed potatoes, and the carrot souffle that everyone likes.   I also managed to make four pies.

Apple, cherry, chocolate, and coconut cream.   I don't know why they leaked so bad, I didn't think I had that much juice in them.   I must say that the gift Jessalyn got me for Christmas comes in handy!  It is a pampered chef pastry sheet that makes rolling and putting in the plate so easy!
All homemade from the crusts to the fillings and the puddings too!  I was a little skeptical about the coconut cream but it was pretty good!  Of course, there was cool whip or ice cream for on top!
Becky and Jake brought out a lovely potted flower for the centerpiece.

What is a holiday get together without being in the woods?    We were the rednecks on Sunday for about 5-6 hours after dinner.
How many guys does it take to verify a shot?
Becky and Kacie were out there too!

Everyone  wanted to go out and then later in the day Jake had brought out some target skeet that he, Becky, and Tom were out in the pasture practicing.  Becky could hardly move her arm that night.  I wish I had charged my batteries because I missed so many pictures of the family!
