Ah, glorious day. So nice and warm and I am loving it for the moment! What better way for kids to enjoy a spring day than to jump on the tramp. Hmmmmm
I noticed my daffodils are blooming. How much like spring!
I have a little yard bunny my Grandma Talbot use to have in her front garden. This is the only safe bunny around here!
The spring cleaning bug has set in and I did all the windows in and out last week. I raked old leaves away from the house, cleaned around the beds of flowers, and even had the bright idea of tearing up ALL the garden. All the raised beds are gone except one little area that I am hoping the asparagus comes back up this year. I see the chives and maybe the celery. Everything else is gone. I think I counted 18 tires pulled out and stacked at the end of the blueberries. When they work for raised beds they work well and don't look bad. When they are drowning in water and not producing, it looks like the Clampets and they have to go! All the forms that I had are stacked, and all the soda bottles I cut into rings for the plants are pulled and stacked in a pile. What a big muddy, soupy mess! I have plenty of new ideas that include a stacked garden. But I know I will need plenty of space for corn if I plant it. I told Tom I would really like 4, 25ft rows of corn. The one year was really great that I did that.
Meanwhile, I have started seedling in tp tubes. Saw this idea on the internet too. I cut an old storage tub down and lined up the tp rolls Filled with good potting soil and put in the seedlings. It is keeping them wet and they have started to sprout. I don't know how they will turn out. I wanted to start the longest first so I did cabbage, broccoli, acorn squash, and cauliflower. Would be great if they come up.
