and...

Because of all the rain, the Amish lost all the hay they had down.  They thought throwing it along the property line was a good idea.  Wrong!  It was smoldering so bad we thought  it would set our woods on fire. I had my clothes out on the line.  Thankfully, that horrible smell didn't permeate them before I got them down!
The pool is getting it's use.  Becky has stopped over twice now to take a dip and cool off after work. Funny hearing the girls play like when they were little.

The fourth was a bust, being warm and all.  Everyone was doing their own thing, Tommy still out of town, spending the 4th in New Mexico or maybe Wyoming by now. Becky was doing her own thing, and Ken mentioned coming out, but it was predicted to rain torrents again so I thought that not  a good idea.  Too hot to just come out and have to stay inside. Ended up not raining much at all. Becky called later in the evening and wanted to treat us to ice cream.  Who is Tom to say no to that?  So we did end up going out to the hill to get cones.
Tom and I went down to the neighbors and worked on cutting up and removing a tree they had cut down.  They offered up the wood if we would cut it up for them.
I had to bake three peach pies for an evening wedding the next day.  I always think peach pie is the hardest.  Maybe trying to get the creaminess to it and not be dry.  They looked good even though we didn't get a chance to taste any.

I thought the entryway to the reception was a cute idea.  On the top pallet was woodburned the names of the bride and groom and the wedding date.  The bottom had scripture  1 Corintians 13:13, "The Greatest of These is Love".  Off to the side was a serving tray with their names and date.
There were at least 300 people and it took an hour just to get through the receiving line.  We left soon after not even getting to see the wedding party come into the reception area, let alone cut the cake.  I never got to see that either!  With the outside wedding, I was thankful it stayed dry.  It was a pretty dark sky when I was coming back from delivering the dessert.
