Jessalyn going off to work with Tom three days a week to do school has turn much more time over to me. I make my lists in the morning and find myself on rabbit trail of things that I have put off for a long time. As well as doing all the chores myself all day long, I have my usual list of house maintainance and domestic animals to attend. Thankfully with all the rain we did have, I can run a small load of laundry here rather than going out. That is somewhat helpful. Ken had brought home scrap wood to burn. Some is to long so I have taken the chainsaw out and made 18" pieces to put in the stove. I also took it across the street when the rain broke and cut and stacked the fallen tree ready to be removed when the tractor is running. We don't need much wood burning yet because even with frost in the morning, the days are near as cold as you would think for November.
In fact, I am beginning to wonder how bad it will be. Tom's co-worker brought his son out for squirrel hunting the other day and saw only a few out.
The pinecones on the trees are high and found it very strange seeing the birds eating them. I don't think they store like squirrels, do they? I came up from the barn and heard this crunching noise. I looked up and saw the birds flitting around the cones. Never knew that. Look how many are on the ground this year still in tact!
Jess has been taking Art out more and more. He is looking good. Now if I can get her to get Penny out! Poor Dusty is left behind again.
Tom took a Sunday and fixed Tommy's car up for him. It had been running bad and I have had to play taxi for a few weeks. He seems to think he has fixed it by working on the fuel line/filter. All I know is that I am not running him around anymore!
Ken took his blazer into work and fixed it up and sold it, so that is a lighter load on the insurance and cash back in his pocket for a short time.
Temps are warming, Tom had taken a few days off to go bow hunting. He keeps seeing deer, but no luck.
Jake, Becky, Jess, and I went out with him trying to track a deer he thought he shot, but Becky came back with an intact arrow. He's done for now, maybe during rifle he will be more fortunate.
I have to admit, the sunshine is making pals in it's warming rays. These guys are just sucking it up!
