It is still fall though, so I have been trying to get apples. Not just get them done, but get them. The orchards say the weather wasn't kind to the apples this year, and I have only bought a bushel and a half so far. We all know they don't have to be pretty to taste good, but even these seconds look not so good. I have put up 18 jars of sauce, and about 9 of apple pie.
I wanted to get carrots put up this year but not take up room in the freezer. I think they turned out a wonderful color and look tasty.
Tom has turned work inward and began putting up the drywall for our new closet. We are flip flopping it to the south wall for more room. We each will get a side of the window with a small storage area under that.
Jessalyn loves to bake in the kitchen, it is her picture she hates to be taken.
To warm up the house one cool day she baked cookies. She is really good at that!
Last weekend we went to see my sister-in-law. Her dog was ecstatic. Poor Chloe. She loved the attention!
Of course, we had to take her a gift. Blossom and Millie. They stayed when we left. Terry had just lost a longtime cat, and Chloe and her only cat Brat needed new friends. Millie adapted quickly to the windowsill and birdwatching.
The other Chloe a.k.a. Skylar, seems to loving her new home with a family Tom knew from work. The kids get a realy kick out of her bouncing around their house.
Back at home, seems as though JC and Miley befriended each other. Sometimes Miley forgets he is a cat, but he quickly reminds her!
