Labor Day weekend

!!WHAT? NO PICTURES?"

nope. It's the holiday weekend.

It started off with Tom taking me to town to look at a new vehicle for Ken. Really nice blazer. Somehow the guys will work it out so he can buy it and then Tom can have his van back. Right now Ken is still using it and won't be back in time for them to take it to the mountains. He will pack the car and I will be left here without a vehicle. At least he left me the shotgun!

And it was suppose to be my vacation time off. Everyone went up to the cabins, and I stayed behind to tend to the things of the homestead. It was so stinking hot that I really couldn't do much the first day home. Before Tom left, he sprayed outside under the overhang of the roof for bees that seemed to be working their way in to the spare room. I guess that kills the idea of working in there until that is all under control. I thought that I could paint and rearrange in there since Tommy finished the drywall. I opened the door the next morning and found at least 8 dead/dying ones on the floor.

By Saturday night, Ken made his way back home. He got off work early, but went to see his girl and her family that live near where he is working. When he pulled in Miley was so excited to see him that she tore up the yard just running circles around him. It was 11:00 at night and very dark, but she ran like crazy! She was so happy to see him!

The next day Ken helped me with morning chores and then took off to do some things he had to do. Later my parents came out to visit with him because they will be leaving soon and probably won't get to see him until next spring. He says he might fly down there over the winter to visit when he is laid off, but liked to visit with them now anyway. They left right before dinner. I had made a nice roast in the pressure cooker along with noodles and gravy. It was just Ken and I. It was really nice. I don't think it was ever just us.

It was really late when the rest of the family came home. I was beginging to think they were staying yet another night. With one day left of the holiday, Ken said his goodbyes and left to drive back down to work. We worked on a few little things, but with it cloudy out, we took the better part of the day off.
