Jess is still getting acquainted with this years teachers. Everything is online except PE and Driver's Ed. Some classes are longer than others but she is done by early afternoon. This gives me a lot of time to get really involved with getting things done.
Since we had bee problems in the one bedroom, I didn't get going on it until this week. I began by tearing out the big wall unit that we used to have in the living room then moved to that room to shove stuff into. Tom wanted it gone, so I ripped it apart and it is ready to burn. Maybe if I take all the screws out he might want to use it in the muddy areas around the barn.
Then came the hard part of tossing and going through everything. All the stuff that was good intentions, stuff that was memories that needed to be stored elsewhere. I found school papers that were 3 and 4 years old that needed to be tossed. I put the workbooks in the recycle, worksheets in the burnable, but kept some of the writings that the kids had. I had the two older ones do a poetry class one year. I kept a majority of their free writing poems. I also kept a few of their book reports.
I have many lap blankets I crocheted last spring with left over yarn. Becky says they have more than enough at the home, so I am thinking the next time I go to big town I will take them and drop them at the homeless shelter. They will need them come winter. They are a good size for the little ones that come in. I may have some adult bed blankets too.
We took Sister down the other night. Everything seems to go right through her. She was wormed, and given sulfur treatment and Geritol but to no avail. The weather is getting cooler anyway, so I took her down the way for some healing and social time. Belle is doing just fine. She is fat, but I still don't know if it is because of kids or not. I rearranged her area for the winter and cleaned it out really well. She has a lot of room to romp around in there when the weather turns cold.
As it is, this time of year really makes me want to pick up the craft needles. I was making a black sweater and got all the way up to the armhole when I see that is was stretching to a 3x! I tore it all out and am making a new one with a different pattern. Black with gold trim . GO STEELERS!
