Last weekend Tom, Tommy, and I went to the Steam Engine Show nearby. It was the first time we ever went. Lots and lots of tractors both old and new.
Pretty cool. There was a really old steam engine that you could just smell the steam heat coming from underneath.
These were a few that Tom liked.
They had a large flea market there too. I hadn't planned on spending any money, but when I found this iron for $5, and Tom talked him into selling it for $4, I was thrilled! Then I found these two cookbooks from 1920 and 1938. Jackpot again! We were looking at iron 2-burners for canning outside, but they were to much, and Tom wasn't sure about the hook up. He did find this burner that will fit my pressure canner just right. I hope I can get it going outside and it will work this way.
Even though it is hot, the garden seems to be thriving. I think it is because of the raised beds and manure that keeps the moisture. These are the tomato plants and cabbage. Behind the broccoli and cabbage are the squash. You can see the reaped benefits from the plants.
It was hot yesterday, but after looking in the garden, I decided to weed between all those rows of tomatoes. I had done the red peppers a few days before. While weeding, I found some acorn squash trying to ripen, and a few of those plants with little roma's on them.
I haven't been watering because it is hard enough for Tom to bring in the water. We are down to one drum left today and hope it lasts until tonight so we only use the well for night chores. He will have to fill them tomarrow.

I really like the pictures. I would love to find an iron like that to put on my wood cook stove.
I can outside using a two burner propane stove. One thing you may need to do is make a metal shield to go around it to keep the wind from blowing it out.
Have a great day.
