Good Friday

Last night Tom and Becky brought in the new flooring.  I'm not sure when Tom will have time to get it down, but it is one step closer to getting there.   Unfortunately, he headed off to work for a few hours to recapture wages spent on that.

The girls and I on the other hand will be out in full force working in the yard again today.  It is much to beautiful a day to be inside!  Besides, I have already been up since 4 a.m. talking to people in foreign lands, baking bread, and baking chicken to go on the grill later. When out in the mudroom I got in the freezer and pulled out the last deer leg and have that in the roaster.  Might as well have that ready and won't have to worry about dinner for the next three days.

As we are busy working, going about our busy little lives, I think of a mother standing at her son's  feet, seeing him bleed, struggling for breath.  Breath she helped give him.  Arms that would give her a loving hug as a child now pulled outward as far as they could reach  and tied and nailed to a rough piece of wood. People taunting him, yelling at him, scoffing him. There she is,  watching her son being tortured for people she didn't even know.  Having faith, but feeling pain.     I will rememeber  when 3:00 comes around that 2033 years ago as that mother shed tears for him as  the sky drew dark, the clouds rolled in and that son took his last breath to pay the price for me.  What have I done today to deserve that?
