Feasting on Sunday

Last night was the Game Dinner for church.  Not to much in the way of funky food like they have had in past years.   Beaver, skunk, turtle soup were left by the wayside.  They did have BEAR-loni though.  Looked like it had a bit to much gristle/fat for me.  Smelled good though because of all the spices.  Apparently, some like it because as were were serving people passing through the line, it disappeared quickly!   They estimated 300 tickets were given away.   Afterwards the guests were treated to a guest speaker talking about hunting and game.

Becky and Jess helped serve up the cold salads.

The servers had a chance to grab something from the leftovers.   Mmmmm,  pie and cake the favorite! There wasn't much in the way of staples left over, but we did get to take home some corn, baked beans, and bread.

Today we enjoyed those leftovers with some fried chicken Tom picked up after church from the local store.  So, it is early afternoon and my big meal is done.  The sun is shining and it really feels good!  It is a balmy 48 degrees this afternoon!

The girls plan on going out shooting their new guns  in just a bit after Tom does a little Mr. Fix-it for me. A friend gave Jess a small .22 and Becky got a little bigger rifle,  I think.  I'm not the expert as to what they are.  I just know they shoot bullets and can get us some dinner!

A big   OOZAGA  to my son Tom who left me a text on my phone saying he is alive and well living in the woods for a little while longer!

Ken,  when you coming home to visit?  Don't you miss my homemade rice dinners?

YUck those tempting things sound gross - skunk! Who would even cook it let alone eat it. Glad your feast this year was more down to earth.

So have you gotten all your data back? If it is on your laptop you should be able to download to a disk and put back into your decktop. Let me know. And HI to Tom and Ken.
