Heat and summer activities finally!
Despite the rain, Grandma and Grandpa came out to see Jessalyn compete in the Ultimate Cowboy Race. For most of the day it was perfect weather. Then the rain started. The competition continued but the last hour it just poured. Everyone was drenched.
One of the events was transfering water from on top of one barrel to another. It was surprising at how many adults and their horses had a hard time. Dusty, being the fine horse she is, took first place and put some small change in her rider's pockets in the events she participated in that day.
We have had some sunny days since. Nothing like Florida though, right Becky? That's all right. Try and keep that southern tan up anyway.
While she is sun bathing I was working on the pop-up that Tom brought home. The campers down the road had a free sign on it. Tom figured that it might make a good sized deep trailer but when we opened it up it was in really good shape. The canvas needs work or even replaced if I feel ambitious. So I spent the afternoon taking it down and pulling out all the fastenters that someone else tried repairing it with.
With the heat comes fleas, and the bathers weren't very eager to bathe!
