cruisin'

Isn't this the coolest car?  We followed it down to the thruway.  I just had to have Rebekah take a picture.

I posted wood on a free board a while back and a gentleman responded to come and get all that pine that came down in the storms.  Tom and Ken were hauling it up to the driveway for him to get with his big truck.   Yesterday, he came and took away the big dead trees the electric co. had taken down for us.  Today since it was stinking hot I decided to go and clean up that area since it is right at the road and looks bad.   How refreshing it was to see the pool man come with our water!  It won't be long now!  It doesn't look bad.  A bit of dirt to be vacuumed out and some chemicals, but other than that it is ready to go!

It is hard to believe just how hot it is today after early last week when we had two days of frost.  The local grape growers here in the east lost 80% of their crops.  I lost my mother's day flowers, even the marigolds that are suppose to be hardy.  And the rose of sharon!  Now I will have sticks in the front and side yards until next year.  Fortunately, the new trees did fairly well, with the exception of the peach.  They look a little raggy.  Here is the fuschia Tom bought me.  How it faired all this, I just don't know.
