Welcome to our new home on the web! Our family is blessed to be living on a few acres surrounded by gamelands. We bought a little camp a few years back and my dear husband and I have been trying to build up and remodel it to fit our needs as the years go by and acquiring many animals along the way. I have learned to appreciate the hard work that goes into keeping such animals, but also enjoy having them here to supply our needs. However, I am not the best farmer. We do not eat our livestock, but we do use what they have to offer. We have fresh eggs as weather permits, and we milk our goats so that we can enjoy those fudgecicle on hot summer days! We have pulling goats that are really just lawn ornaments at this time but we love them anyway. We also have a few horses for enjoyment. My daughter's horse can ride and drive, but she loves it for just riding. We attempted growing a larger garden this year. I had such high hopes of production, but due to the rains I am afraid that I won't be getting nearly as much as I have hoped. I do have my corn a knee high, as scraggly as it is. I do hope that I can share with you the events of all this, plus the ongoing schooling of our growing children. They challenge us daily! Muddy Boot Acres is what it is, so pull on your muckers and come join us! |
