God is Great, God is Good

Now we thank him for our food.  I guess a lot of us remember that grace.   It is the introduction to outloud prayer in the homestead.   So easy to remember, so fast to get out.  Tonight at dinner I was ask to say grace.  So, I gave thanks for our food,  thanks for being blessed to have it....hmmm that is the same?  Then I began to ramble on about the day, and concerns... Wait!   This is grace time.  Designated time for food thanks.   Why was I adding in all this other stuff?   Because sometimes during the day I don't remember to stop and pray for the things that are on my mind.

I love homesteading but everyone out there that does homestead knows just how hard the times can be.  They also know how blessed it can be.   Sometimes I am just so busy  'steading that I take for granted  "He knows".

Something that has come as a revelation to me in my older years is that prayer is not mechanical action that we are taught.  It is a stepping stone for  a relationship that you build.   He knows me.  How well do I know Him?

Luke 13

24"Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to. 25Once the owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading, 'Sir, open the door for us.'
"But he will answer, 'I don't know you or where you come from.'

26"Then you will say, 'We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.'

27"But he will reply, 'I don't know you or where you come from. Away from me, all you evildoers!'

Clearly you can walk the walk and talk the talk, but when it comes down to it,  it's not that at all.   It is the relationship you have and the grace you are shown.

I am truly thankful.  For my food, for my home,  for my family.  For grace.
