Fooled Again!

Alright.  It has been a few days and within those few days we had dry grass to mow.  In the nick of time, too!  This morning we awoke to find ourselves within our little moat once again!  Gray skies let loose to thunder and lightening for most of the day,  but come dinner time it was nice enough to let the horses out to graze. Being this wet,  I am sure that I can count on my squash being quite plump again this year.  The mud is horrid.  It  is so bad that one horse has pulled all of her shoes.  The flies must have been bad too as our haflinger has a bad case of pink eye.  Yuck!  I am using my daughters pink eye solution tonight and we'll see how it goes tomarrow.  We spray and mask, but deer flies  know no fear and they will fly away with parts of you!

Apart from seeing the water surrounding us,  we had to face going out and doing chores this morning.  How does one stay in a good mood when you splunk through the mud so early in the morning?  Or a morning that the goat decides to run over the previous does milk to get into the stanchion? We are doing what needs to be done.  Fun or not.  So I am reminded,

Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

That is a hard one today.

I appreciated your comment on my daughter's "happy birthday" entry. We have had drought here in Montana for many years. Your entry makes me appreciate many aspects of the dryness! I was born in Bethlehem, PA and would love to see the state again one day. Until then, enjoy it for me!.....................Denise
